Announcement Regarding the 2020 Berklee at Umbria Jazz Clinics
After careful consideration of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision made by the Umbria Jazz Festival to cancel the festival, and decisions made at Berklee regarding all its programming through summer 2020, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Berklee at Umbria Jazz Clinics. This was not a decision we made lightly, but in these uncertain times, the health and safety of all our students, instructors, staff, sponsors and community are the most important considerations.
We know this will be a disappointment to many, as it certainly is to us, particularly given the very special anniversary as we anticipated celebrating the 35th year of the clinics.
For applicants who have been accepted and have already paid tuition, for those of you who would like to attend the clinics in 2021 from July 6th to the 18th, UJC will hold your payments on file to apply toward next year’s program guaranteeing your spot and that your tuition fee will not increase. In addition to the concerts at the Arena which are included in your enrolment fee, we would like to offer you free entrance to an important concert at Teatro Morlacchi.
If you would like to request a refund, please contact the Umbria Jazz Clinics office at firstname.lastname@example.org to make arrangements.
Berklee will also follow up with information about online audition opportunities and ways for staying engaged with Berklee, including remote summer programs and free online offerings through Coursera.
We wish you and your families health and safety. Stay musical and creative, and we look forward to being able to meet again in person.
